There is help available.

A poem I wrote.  I hope placing it here will raise awareness about this serious issue and possibly save lives.  This is a general poem but also applies to dealing with confusion, helping others, prosocial behaviors, loving each other, coping with loss, coping with tragedy,  healing, sorrow, and joy.

Written 2017, For National Survivor Day

National Survivor Day  is November 18th, 2017.

Great Blue’
Poem by Omar Shamsi

The sky isn’t blue.
The grass isn’t green.
The sunlight has no hue.
The youth can’t be seen.
The roses are pale & grey.
I can’t even hear my own screams.
I’m not here but there.
&  I can’t or don’t
remember if there is
a way there or if there
is a back again.

I was held in the arms
of God & Saved.
The sky is a wonderful
sight & breath & feeling.
Suns, Moons, & Stars
Galactic fogs.
The grasses Shine
and like waves…
reeds on water
fields of green,
fields of yellow.
the youth laugh & play.

This poem is dedicated to you and your loved ones.
Those who are living and those who have passed.
And those who know someone or a loved one who has passed from tragic causes.
And those tireless volunteers.

Note:
I’m making this page today in support of
